Frequently Asked Questions for Fishing Charters in      Pensacola Beach, FL

Q: What species of fish can I expect to catch in Pensacola Beach FL?

A: Pensacola Beach Fishing Charters can produce almost any species of fish native or visiting the Gulf of Mexico.  Some of our more common fish are:  Cobia, triggerfish and mingo or vermillion snapper in spring.  (All great table fare) Then we move into King Mackerel, Red Snapper and grouper in summer.  Later Summer and Fall make for great blue water trolling for mahi, tuna, sailfish and more.  Fall has the arrival of the bull reds in the bay and surf along with giant amberjack offshore.  You can catch varieties of snapper and grouper all year long.  Deep dropping is also available for tile fish and other delicious deep sea fare.

Q: What should I bring on a fishing charter in Pensacola Beach?

A: Layered clothing with full sun coverage is best and you can peel those off as the temps rise during the day. A light rain jacket may be advisable and sunscreen (lotion - no spray) and sunglasses (polarized preferred) are a must.  Snacks are always great and any special beverages you may want to bring along as well.  Be sure to have a cooler too so you can ice your fish for the trip home.  Bring your phone or a camera for pictures of all your fish.

A: When it comes to Pensacola Beach Fishing Charters, We have some truly great trips.  Our most popular fishing trip is bottom fishing for Red Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack and more.  We also provide blue Water trolling trips for mahi, tuna, wahoo, billfish and others.  We also offer Deep Dropping trips where we target fish that are really deep and really tasty (golden tile, snowy grouper, barrelfish and more. A: About 50 years of combined Local fishing experience is what really sets Bloodline Fishing Charters apart.  Both Christian and Bobby's dad's have been successful fishing guides in the Pensacola area for decades and the Bloodline captains were right there with them learning the local waters as young boys who are now grown men guiding these waters with a lifetime of local knowledge.

We also have a super fast and comfortable boat and a very fun and hardworking crew to make your fishing adventure a lifetime memory.

A: No. You do not need a fishing license as it is provided by us for your charter day.

Q: Are food and drinks provided on the charter boat?

A: We provide the ice, bait, tackle and licenses for your fishing trip. You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages of choice.

Q: Can I bring alcohol on my fishing charter?

A: Of Course! Fishing and beer (or your cold drink of choice) are made for each other. Just be aware that the sun and boat motion can add to the effects of alcohol, so be aware and keep it safe.

Q: How many people can the boat accommodate for my fishing charter?

A: The Bloodline is a 39' Venture center console with a small bathroom and will fish 6 guests comfortably while 4 is just perfect.

A: Absolutely, nothing makes our crew happier than sharing our love for offshore fishing and instilling that same excitement into young anglers.  The Bloodline has a bathroom and high padded gunwales so the kiddos stay safe and comfortable.

Q: What happens if the weather is really bad?

A: If the weather is bad enough for the Captain to call off the trip, we can try to reschedule your trip or provide a refund if we can't make a new trip work.

Q: Do I need to make a reservation?

A: We recommend that you book your trip well in advance if you are looking for specific dates or in the summer season.  The spring and fall are a little lighter, so a few days will usually work.  We do accept same or next day walk up, but that availability is limited all year long.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Trips cancelled prior to 72 hours are eligible for a new trip or full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours forfeit the deposit and same day no call-no shows are 50% of total rate.

Q: What is your tipping policy?

A: Gratuities are very much appreciated and while 20% is customary, it's certainly OK tip more if you had an exceptional trip.

Q: What happens to the fish I catch?

A: When we get back to the dock your fish will be filleted, skinned, washed and bagged for you to take home. This is included and should be considered in your crew's gratuity.

Q: Will I get seasick? What if I get seasick?

A: The bloodline is a center console with outboard gas engines. If you have been seasick in the past it was likely on a diesel headboat where you were slow rocking and breathing in diesel fumes all day. It is less likely that you will get seasick on the Bloodline due to the motion of the boat and the lack of fumes. However, if you are prone to getting seasick then we advise taking Dramamine the night before the trip. If you end up getting seasick while we are offshore, we will try to make you as comfortable as possible in order to enjoy the remainder of the trip.
